My mom spent her last years in a nursing home in Quebec. Some short time before she passed away she asked me if I would paint her a nurse with a butterfly. She explained that there was a special nurse with whom she was connected with. My mom said that this nurse was ‘très douce comme un papillon.’
With so much sadness happening in nursing homes, my mom’s experience resurfaces. I think of those who never had the chance to bond with a ‘golden butterfly.’
Thank you to all of you who spend your life to save others.
